Welcome!

On behalf of the Phi Eta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our website and to share a glimpse of the impactful work we are doing in the community.

Chartered on June 6, 1999, Phi Eta Omega has a strong legacy of service to Scotch Plains and the surrounding communities in Greater Union County, New Jersey.  Our work is grounded in our sorority's enduring purpose of Being of Service to All Mankind. For more than two decades, our chapter has remained committed to uplifting the community through meaningful programs, partnerships, and advocacy.

Founded on January 15, 1908 on the campus of Howard University in Washington D.C., Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® is the first African-American sorority.  Guided by sisterhood, scholarship, and service, we work to address the evolving needs of our local community while strengthening the bonds that unite us as members.

Under the leadership of our International President, Danette Anthony Reed, Phi Eta Omega is implementing impactful service projects anchored in our current international program theme, Soaring to Greater Heights of Sisterhood and Service

  • Strengthen Our Sisterhood
  • Empower Our Families
  • Build Our Economic Wealth
  • Enhance Our Environment
  • Advocate for Social Justice
  • Uplift Our Local Community

Key to our ability to deliver meaningful impact to the community are collaborations with mission-aligned partners and other supporters. Please explore our website to learn more about our service projects, upcoming events, and opportunities to support our work, including our annual scholarship program offered in coordination with the Ivy Dream Foundation.  We also invite you to follow us on social media.

If you are a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, we would welcome the opportunity to host you at a future chapter meeting or event.  Please reach out to learn more about visiting with us.

Thank you for visiting our site.  We look forward to connecting with you and continuing to serve - together.

In the Spirit of Service,

Dewanna N. Graham
